The Christmas season is in full swing. People from the Milligan community munched on cookies, apple cider and hot chocolate as they walked around to shop at the fifth annual Advent Market.

Sixteen tables in the Gregory Center featured handmade gifts and collectables, and local vendors and students shared their talents and passions with the Milligan community. The event took place Wednesday, Nov. 30, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The Advent Market is hosted by CAB each year and serves to offer a charitable alternative to Christmas shopping, encouraging students and the community to buy local and consciously.

CAB member Casey Knapp said that she “hopes the event engages the local community to the students of Milligan in a tangible way as they share their passions and talents.”

The vendors sold a variety of gift options including handmade items such as jewelry, soaps, ornaments, home decor, ceramics, bags, knitted hats and scarves and dolls. A few student vendors sold products from social enterprise companies like Rapha House and 31bits.
