The Afters. Remedy Drive. Rush of Fools. Aside from having hit records on iTunes, these bands have one other thing in common: they will all be on Milligan’s campus next Tuesday, Sept. 30 for the Live Love Tour.

According to ilivelove.org, “The Live Love Movement organization is a Christ-focused non-profit organization that serves to communicate the Live Love calling and fuel the Live Love movement.”

To execute this mission, the Live Love Tour has set out on a nationwide tour to Christian colleges across America. What makes this tour special is that it is much more than a concert.

“Tuesday’s convocation worship will be led by Rush of Fools and the speaker is Kevin Austin, a man who leads the Set Free movement. In the afternoon there will be a food-packing event with a Live Love ministry partner, Food Aid International. The centerpiece of the day is the concert at night with all three artists, with two guest speaker,” Wallace said.

The point of this event on campus is to encourage students to step out of their comfort zone and spend quality time with their peers while serving and worshipping Christ.

“It is a day that should be seriously fun, it’s a change up from our daily routine. The flip side is that there is something serious and compelling about it, to say you’re a follower of Jesus, the obligation to find him in places that are outside of our normal circle,” Wallace said.

While the concert is open to the community, Milligan students are offered an exclusive opportunity to join band members for an acoustic set in the “after-concert SUB takeover”, where local justice organizations will be present to talk to students interested in making a difference in their community.

The evening concert is a ticketed event open to Milligan students and the community. Pre-sale tickets are $10 at the Milligan Bookstore.  To encourage students to get involved, Spiritual Formation Program (SFP) credits will be available throughout the day: one for convocation, two for the food pack afternoon service project, and two for the evening concert, featuring The Afters, Rush of Fools, and Remedy Drive.
