The Milligan College Lady Buffs used Sunday to prepare for their upcoming season, which is just around the corner. On October 20, the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse was filled with its own Milligan College Buffaloes along with King University nd Walters State Community College as well.

The Lady Buffaloes played Sunday at 1 and 4 p.m., with their first game against WSCC, of which they played earlier in the preseason, followed by King College. A full roster of 22 players gives the Lady Buffaloes plenty of substitutes.

Senior starter Chelsey Weddle said, “Yesterday (Sunday) went very well I thought. We definitely have a long way to go, but we are off to a great start. We have a very talented team this year with a lot of versatile players. I’m very excited to see how this year goes. I expect a lot of good things to come out of the season this year.”

Junior starter Lindsee Price added “it was decent we played well but it helped us learn what we need to work on for the season”.

Weddle and fellow senior Catelyn Radeck started in the post for the WSCC game, with sophomore Hayley Wyrick and juniors Lindsee Price and Callie Cox. After a tough loss to WSCCC the team set out for another game with senior Caitlyn Cain in the post replacing Radeck. With a nail-biting finish the Milligan College Lady Buffaloes lost to King by 3 points in the 63-60 game.

The Lady Buffaloes continue play on Nov. 1 against East Tennessee State University at their court at noon.  The first home opener at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse will be that following Nov. 5 against St. Catherine College (Ky.) at 5:30 p.m.
