Milligan’s Lady Buff dancers received the Platinum level award in a regional competition held in Greenville, S.C. last weekend.
“I am very proud of the girls and for the way they represent Milligan College,” said Coach Ronda Paulson.
The team won their division and the Platinum award, the second highest level of achievement for a group routine. Two dancers, Meaghan Roland and Kathryn Kenneson, also performed solo routines. Roland won the contemporary dance solo division while Kenneson won her division for her lyrical routine. Kenneson also received a special judges’ “Breathless” award.
The dance team started competing just last year, receiving two Diamond awards throughout the season – the highest level of achievement. Last weekend marked the end of the competition season for the Lady Buffs and the end of a college dance career for senior captain Meaghan Roland.
“I am very proud to be part of a team, as well as have coaches, that are so encouraging,” said Roland. “They helped me personally to fall in love with dance all over again these past four years.”
