The Milligan softball team finished their season last week as they lost to Bryan College 9-4 in Game 12 of the AAC tournament.

Head coach Wes Holly expressed his final thoughts on the season.

“As a whole, we had a pretty good season and were positioned well for the AAC tournament,” he said, “but just were not consistent with our hitting and lost to teams which we had beaten during the season. This was disappointing and not the way we wanted the season to end.”

Senior Chancli Connatser said the team accomplished a lot more than making it far into the tournament.

“We didn't exactly make it to where we wanted to, but as a team we grew on and off the field,” she said. “We became more than teammates, we became best friends.”

Freshman Ashley Arnold said her teammates were like her sisters.

“Something that stands out about our team is definitely our friendship,” she said. “We would help each other and have each other's back for anything.”

“I have never played for a team where I have been close friends with so many of my teammates,” said Connaster. “I also have never played for a team with so much talent and so much depth.”
